Installation Instructions
1. Prior to the installation of the AFKLOK pressure reducing valve, ensure that the pipeline is thoroughly cleaned. Continuously purge the gas to completely eliminate any impurities and particles, such as iron filings, that may have been introduced during the cutting process of the pipeline.
2. It is crucial to install a filter upstream of the pressure reducing valve. Failing to do so can lead to system particles damaging the seat, causing internal leakage within the regulator, an increase in downstream pressure, and potential damage to the outlet pressure gauge or other connected equipment. Employ a filter element with a precision of no less than 20 microns for optimal protection.
3. When fitting NPT threads, it is advised against using thread glue or liquid raw material tape. Incorrect application can cause liquid to seep into the valve filter, potentially clogging it. This can result in either a no-pressure condition at the valve port or an abnormally low flow rate.
4. In a flowing state, adjust the handle of the pressure reducing valve clockwise to elevate outlet pressure, and counterclockwise to lower it. When reducing the outlet pressure to zero, ensure that the handle is in a relaxed state. Over-rotating counterclockwise can cause thread jamming or loosen the handle, making further adjustments impossible.
5. Avoid using the pressure reducing valve as a globe valve for prolonged periods. Such use can deform the seat, leading to an erratic flow rate and potential system instability.
6. Exercise caution and handle the valve delicately to prevent any impacts, particularly on valves equipped with pressure gauges. Pressure gauges are sensitive and can be easily damaged by external forces, which may compromise their accuracy.
