Installation Instructions

Installation Instructions
1. To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your pressure reducing valve, it is essential to meticulously clean the pipeline prior to installation. Conduct a thorough and continuous purging of the gas lines to eradicate any impurities and particles, such as iron filings, which may have resulted from pipeline cutting.

2. For the utmost protection and efficiency of your system, it is imperative to install a filter upstream of the pressure reducing valve. Failure to do so may result in seat damage from system particles, leading to internal leakage, a rise in downstream pressure, and potential harm to the outlet pressure gauge or other components. For best results, employ a filter element with a precision rating of no less than 20 microns.

3. When installing NPT threads, refrain from using thread glue, as improper application can cause liquid migration into the valve filter, resulting in blockage. This may lead to no pressure at the valve port or inadequate flow rates.

4. In an active flow situation, adjust the outlet pressure by turning the handle clockwise to increase and counterclockwise to decrease the pressure. Ensure that when reducing the pressure to zero, the handle is slackened appropriately. Over-rotating counterclockwise can cause the threads to jam, or the handle may loosen, hindering future adjustments.

5. Avoid utilizing the reducing valve as a globe valve over prolonged periods, as this may cause deformation of the seat, leading to unstable flow rates.

6. Exercise caution in handling to prevent impacts, especially on reducing valves equipped with pressure gauges. These gauges are delicate components and susceptible to damage from external forces.
