Installation Instructions
1. Before embarking on the installation of the AFKLOK High Purity Gas Single Stage Regulator medium flow, ensure the pipeline is pristinely clean. Conduct a thorough purge with gas to effectively eliminate any impurities, such as iron filings, that might have been introduced during pipeline cutting.
2. A critical step in safeguarding your system is the installation of a filter upstream of the pressure reducing valve. Without it, particles can compromise the valve's integrity, leading to internal leakage, spikes in downstream pressure, and potential damage to the outlet pressure gauge or other sensitive equipment. For optimal protection, employ a filter element with a precision of at least 20 microns.
3. When dealing with NPT thread installations, refrain from using thread glue or liquid raw material belts. These substances can inadvertently migrate into the valve filter, causing blockages, loss of pressure at the valve port, or reduced flow rates. Precision and care in installation are paramount.
4. Adjusting the outlet pressure on your AFKLOK regulator is simple: turn the handle clockwise to boost pressure or counterclockwise to reduce it. Ensure the handle is loose when pressure is fully released to prevent thread jamming or loss of adjustment capability. Over-rotation counterclockwise can lead to significant handling issues.
5. Avoid using the reducing valve as a substitute for a globe valve over extended periods. Doing so may deform the seat, resulting in fluctuations in flow rate and compromised system performance.
6. Exercise caution and diligence when handling, particularly with valves equipped with pressure gauges. These gauges are delicate instruments and can suffer damage from impact or other external forces, affecting their precision and reliability.
