Installation Instructions
1. Prior to installing the AFKLOK High Purity Gas 600psi input regulator, ensure that the pipeline is impeccably cleaned. Execute a continuous purge of the gas system to meticulously remove all remnants of impurities and particles, including iron filings, produced during the pipeline's cutting process.
2. To safeguard the integrity of the system, a filter must be strategically placed upstream of the pressure reducing valve. Neglecting this step might cause damaging particles to impact the seat, leading to internal leakage of the regulator, unexpected rises in downstream pressure, and potential harm to the outlet pressure gauge or associated equipment. We highly recommend employing a filter element with a precision of no less than 20 microns.
3. When dealing with NPT thread installations, refrain from using thread glue or liquid raw material tape. Improper application can inadvertently allow liquid to seep into the valve filter, causing blockages that result in zero pressure at the valve port or an unsatisfactory flow rate.
4. In operational mode, adjust the handle clockwise to increase the outlet pressure and counterclockwise to decrease it. Once you reduce the outlet pressure to zero, ensure the handle of the pressure reducing valve is left in a relaxed state. Be cautious: excessive counterclockwise turning could cause a thread jam or render the handle too loose, compromising its adjustability.
5. Avoid using the reducing valve as a globe valve substitute for prolonged durations. Doing so may lead to deformation of the seat and result in an inconsistent flow rate, jeopardizing system performance.
6. Exercise utmost care in handling to prevent any impacts, particularly on reducing valves equipped with pressure gauges. These gauges are delicate, precision components, and they can be easily damaged by any external forces.
